Yasmeen Alshabasy

Senior Clinical Research Associate

Yasmeen Alshabasy earned a bachelor’s degree in science in society with a concentration in sociology in 2020 from Wesleyan University. Prior to joining MAPS Public Benefit Corporation (MAPS PBC), Yasmeen served as a writing educator at an all-girls middle school in Brooklyn, NY. Previously, Yasmeen researched at the Johns Hopkins Cochlear Center for Hearing and Public Health where she investigated the impact of dualsensory impairment on health care interactions. At Harvard T.H Chan School of Public Health, Yasmeen studied the impact of personal and work-related burnout on suicidal ideation and behavior, which generated her personal interest into the impacts of systemic and generational trauma.

At MAPS PBC, Yasmeen is currently serving as a senior clinical research associate on the pivotal program team, working on Phase 3 MDMA-assisted therapy studies for PTSD treatment.

She is passionate about the potential of psychedelic healing modalities to restore mind-body-spirit wellbeing and is thrilled to be joining a team devoted to collective healing, community care, and harm reduction. Yasmeen believes that all humans organically have the capacity to heal, and psychedelics offer a powerful tool to actualize transformation. She is humbled to continue learning how plant medicine may alter our neurochemistry, transform our consciousness, and promote collective healing. In Yasmeen’s free time, she enjoys biking, cooking, painting, breathwork, and being in nature.
