Sam earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and minor in international business in 2020 from Eckerd College, where he graduated with high honors. His undergraduate research was in the field of social psychology and focused on understanding helping motivations across different cultures and contexts. Prior to joining MAPS Public Benefit Corporation (MAPS PBC), Sam worked in the tech industry as a user experience and market researcher where he explored the psychology of users and their interactions with technology. He also worked at Florida International University’s Center for Children and Families as a clinician and researcher where he implemented an evidence-based treatment to children with ADHD, autism, and Tourette’s syndrome.

At MAPS PBC, Sam is currently serving as a Clinical Study Assistant, working on Phase 3 clinical trials on MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for patients with posttraumatic stress disorder. He is passionate about helping the world understand the capacity that psychedelics have to facilitate human healing and growth from multiple perspectives. Sam joined MPBC to live out this passion by supporting the development of groundbreaking psychedelic medicine through rigorous research and patient-focused values. In Sam’s free time, he loves actively engaging in activities that bring him joy such as cultivating relationships, cooking, watching sunsets, exploring jaw dropping nature, and expressing gratitude.
