Nick Miner, Ph.D.

Regulatory Medical Writer

Nick Miner, Ph.D., earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Reed College and a doctorate in behavioral neuroscience from Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) studying pharmacology and the neurotoxicity of amphetamines. Prior to joining MAPS Public Benefit Corporation (PBC), he was a post-doctoral fellow at the Portland VA Research Foundation studying synthetic opioids and conducting preclinical trials of novel opioid overdose treatments. Over a decade of experience researching psychoactive substances has not only provided him with a strong background in basic science, but also experience writing protocols, manuscripts, and grants.

At MAPS PBC, Dr. Miner will bring these skills to the position of Regulatory Medical Writer as part of the Regulatory Affairs Department. He will serve as lead writer for documents required to facilitate global regulatory programs across business units and will be responsible for supporting regulatory document writing to develop the global evidence base for MAPS-sponsored research.

With a passion for writing, science, and details, Dr. Miner is excited to contribute to the advancement of psychedelic-assisted therapy. He resides in Portland, OR and enjoys biking, creating steel sculpture, and gardening.
