Jenny Burnes

Administrative Assistant

Jenny is a California native who grew up in a rural farming community on the central coast.  In her early twenties she studied pastry at the California Culinary Academy and massage therapy at the Hirudaya Holistic Life Center.  She has a rich and diverse work history with an emphasis in office administration and management.  Prior to joining MAPS Public Benefit Corporation (MAPS PBC), much of her work has been in specialty & hospital healthcare, and she has worn almost every hat you can imagine in the support staff arena.  This most recent experience was just shy of 10 years working for Sutter Health Palo Alto Medical Foundation in Santa Cruz, CA where she spent her days cheering on clinical staff, scheduling thousands of operations, advocating for patient-centered and accessible care, and often helping patients going through challenging experiences as a result of health crisis.

At MAPS PBC, Jenny has taken on the new role of Administrative Assistant to Training & Supervision, providing support to the team and Chief of Therapy Training and Supervision.  She is an avid supporter of psychedelic justice, harm reduction and sharing information to help remove the stigma around plant & alternative medicines for their therapeutic potential. She is excited to be a member of the MAPS PBC team where she can use her abilities in support of psychedelic scientific research and ultimately the FDA approval of medicines that she believes will be deeply meaningful and impactful to society.

Jenny currently resides in the Sierra foothills of Northern California where you can find her constantly learning, expanding her consciousness, making deep connections, getting lost in the forest, becoming a fiber artist, creating meals with love and intention, and hanging out in cozy spaces with her husband and rescue dogs.
