Ian Schneider
Associate Medical Director
Ian is originally from California, where he completed his Nurse Practitioner training at UCSF. He worked at the San Francisco Department of Public Health on HIV prevention trials (with Hailey Gilmore!), before moving to the UK in 2014. Since then, he’s worked in clinical research and development across all phases of medicine development, including in immuno-inflammation, global health, oncology, and digital health (including with Paul Bezodis at AstraZeneca!). Ian first joined MAPS Europe in 2020, but stepped back for personal reasons earlier this year. Today he returns to MPBC and MAPS Europe full-time as Associate Medical Director, directly reporting to me and will be working across both the MAPS Europe studies as well as the IIT programme. Ian is based in Cambridge UK, lives with his husband Sean and cat Cupcake, and enjoys cooking, sailing, traveling, and volunteering with the psychedelic harm-reduction service PsyCare UK.
