Erica Bush

Clinical Operations Development Manager

Erica is a research professional with over 17 years of experience monitoring and leading Phase
I-IV clinical and non-interventional studies. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Clinical Research from the George Washington University and is a certified Clinical Research Associate (ACRP).

Prior to joining the MAPS Public Benefit Corporation (MAPS PBC), Erica was a Research Program Manager in Rheumatology at the University of Michigan where she oversaw a busy research program with multiple clinical and observational studies. The role included supervising a full academic team as well as developing and managing multiple investigator-initiated studies. During her time there, she became very interested in improving the patient journey and advocating for patients, leading the development of a robust patient partner program. She also contributed to several manuscripts and presented at the 2019 American College of Rheumatology conference. Prior to this role, she worked as a project manager for an academic research organization (ARO) and as a lead CRA for a lipid management start up.

Erica is currently serving as the Clinical Operations Development Manager, working with the Clinical Operations team, focused on process and quality improvement. She is very excited to support the MAPS PBC mission which truly puts patients first and aligns with her overall values.
She is committed to furthering psychedelic research, accessibility, holistic care, and drug reform.

In her free time, Erica can be found at her family’s cabin in northern Michigan, playing in nature. She also enjoys travel, reading, researching, music and tending to her hot- and cold-blooded pet menagerie.
