Staff Accountant
Desra earned a bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration in 2016 from Kent State University. Prior to joining MAPS Public Benefit Corporation (MAPS PBC), she worked with one of Ohio's leading nonprofit community behavioral health agencies. She began her career in low level clerk accounting and over the course of four years earned two promotions. She had the opportunity to create her final position as Treasury Management and Accounting Coordinator with her prior company. She has broad experience in many different functions of finance including treasury, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and grant administration. Desra is also a certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and hopes to soon become a black belt.
At MAPS PBC, Desra is currently serving as a staff accountant, where she will work closely with the Controller, CFO and other finance staff to develop and tone processes and participate in monthly financial processes. Desra was involved in Kent State University’s Students for Sensible Drug Policy (SSDP) chapter in leadership roles including President and Treasurer. She joined MAPS PBC in order to be a part of an organization that will shift the trajectory for mental health treatment in the future.
In Desra’s free time, she enjoys traveling, painting, and hanging out with her dog.
